Jamie & Lou met in Hay on wye. So when they decided to marry they wanted to celebrate their nuptials back where it all began. Lou was keen on a woodland/outdoorsy wedding. When they had a look around Drovers they fell in love. They decided to choose a spot on the farm where no-one else had gotten married. A stunning space amongst the ancient Rowan, Ash, Oak and Birch trees in our re-wilded field. After an extremely hot Summer the forecast for the weekend was rain. We had the two barns they could relocate to, however it would not be the same. The day before they called it and decided no matter what, they would have it in the woodland and the fairies magically kept the rain away.

We loved the set up in the Ceremony Area. They bought old chandeliers, took them apart to hang the gems as twinkling chimes in the trees. Jamie’s Mums rugs were used to give the aisle a boho kinda vibe. The florist @ladidardyflowers had massive florals garland installations around the tree trunks with removable meadow boxes at the bases. The chairs from @rustichire added rustic charm to the ceremony. It was wonderful to see the couple marry with birdsong all around them

Louise’s dress was amazing. From afar it looked lace but up close it had 100s and 1000s of teeny tiny beads hand sewn, bought from @blushbridalgowns designed by @elizajanehowell. The boys looked dapper in their suits from @vintagesuithire. The bridesmaids wore a peachy pinky colour and @samanthapricemakeupartist did a fantastic job on the makeup front. Hair by @haircomesthebride was insane and lasted till the morning. Who knew looking so natural took so much work!!

The couple were keen to bring the woodland theme to the barn for the sit down meal. The florist @ladidardyflowers brought in a bounty full of ivy which dripped off the walls. All of the slit windowsills, both high and low were filled with florals and the couples mums contributed to the florals on the tables in the courtyard. Louise painstakingly painted flowers on the candles which helped bring alive the woodland magic in the barn.

The couple had a customised cocktail called the JLOU made especially for them by our mixologist which complimented their colour scheme and was especially developed for them. Their guests loved the food all freshly prepared by our chefs cooked on open fires and Jamie and Lou made sure they fed their guests well. Canapes followed by a Lamb & Pork with big flavoursome salads, potties and focaccia, ending with cheese boards and dessert wine. Late supper was millionaire mac & cheese followed by churros as a midnight snack. Jamies Mum made an awesome cake tat complimented the woodland theme. We loved the Guinness chocolate layer it was diving and it had a cute lego couple and a corgi dog which looked exactly like the couples baby.
